    Background

Today's real estate market is characterized by a simple and template-based way of living, without collective ideas, shared resources and sustainability. Almenr's vision revolves around sharing and the common, emphasizing how we can economically, ecologically and socially benefit from sharing facilities, resources and dreams.

To help people find their dream house, Almenr matches people with each other, and streamlines the process (including social, juridical, economical processes as well as design and buying) to ensure a smooth process from envisioning to building to moving in, all within 2 years (which is a remarkably shorter timescale than organizing the process yourself).

On Almenr's digital platform (almenr.dk), people can browse projects and upcoming events, sign up to create their profile, write about themselves, choose their preferred location and be able to be matched with other people and projects that fit their needs and dreams.

    Research

Starting in March and learning that no exhaustive user research had previously been made, I started planning user interviews as part of a generative research study. My main goal was to obtain as much possible information about the people signing up on the Almenr platform, how they perceive Almenr and the digital platform, and their ideas for how it can be improved.

Results from the interviews were visualised in a user journey map (see below)

Insights has led to changes in the platform, better visualizing the location of projects, the possibility of seeing other people's profiles (and what not to show), as well as minor UI changes in the profile editing page.

Better visualizing the timeline of the project remains as a top-priority task.

    Design

My design work for Almenr is an ongoing process. One of my biggest achievements is building a component system in Figma, based on the principles of Atomic Design.
